How to Sync Multiple Calendars in Minutes

Start by logging into your free Microsoft account or free Google account (or paid account) to master time management through calendar syncing!

Sync Calendars in Microsoft Outlook

  1. Go to outlook.com and login with your Microsoft email and password.
  2. In the left side bar, click the Calendar icon to open the calendar.
  3. On the right side, press Add Calendar.
  4. In the pop-up window, select Subscribe from Web.
  5. Copy the URL from a learning management system, athletic app, productivity app, shift work app, or other calendar. (More information under the heading Important Notes).
  6. Paste the URL for the calendar.
  7. Click Import.

Sync Calendars in Google Calendar

  1. Go to gmail.com and login with your Google email and password.
  2. In the left side bar, click the Calendar icon. Then, press the Open in New Tab icon (square with an arrow). If the Calendar side bar is already open, press the Open in New Tab icon (square with an arrow).
  3. Click the Settings button (gear icon) in the top menu and select Settings from the drop down.
  4. In the left side menu, press Add Calendar and press From URL.
  5. Copy the URL from a learning management system, athletic app, productivity app, shift work app, or other calendar. (More information under the heading Important Notes).
  6. Paste the URL for the calendar.
  7. Click Add Calendar.

Important Notes

You can sync calendars from…

  • Learning Management Systems: To view all your academic assignments and due dates on your personal calendar, sync your learning management calendar (Brightspace/D2L, Canva, Schoology and more).
  • Athletic apps: See your practice and game schedule on your personal calendar. Sync calendars from athletic apps such as Team Snap, Game Changer, and more.
  • Productivity apps: If you are adding deadlines to tasks in your productivity apps (Asana, Trello, Notion and more), sync that information to your personal calendar to help you meet your goals.
  • Shift work apps: Does your work schedule change from week to week? Does your employer use an app (ConnectTeam or others) for employee schedules? Connect the app calendar with your personal calendar to automatically update your schedule.

    iCalendar or “iCal” is a calendar data format which allows you to sync calendars and receive automatic updates. For any scheduling app or software, do an internet search on where to locate the iCal link or subscription URL. Paste that URL to into the subscription feature in your personal calendar.
